Part 3-My 2008 Magnificent Colossal Indy 500 Photo Blog Thing: Damn...A Brief Pause To Reflect

I was looking through my Indy 500 badges today, and it just dawned on me that this year is the 50th anniversary of my old man's first race as a reporter covering the event.

Perfect.

At this joyously expectant time for me, the May opening of the IMS gates, I'm currently suffering from a case of melancholy.

I am my father's son.

  1. I saw the Marine badge on your site. My nephew was redeployed to the gulf this weekend, and am happy to see support for the troops where ever I can.

Other than actually going to the track and watching the live feed, one of the things I have looked forward to the last few years in May is Zoomies blog and trackforum. I'll be looking for you Friday and Saturday, we'll be in Beer Me! tee shirts.

  2. Your nephew is a true American hero. Godspeed to him and his comrades, and may they all come home soon safe and sound.

Feel free to comment away with your bad-ass selves.

Cursing and foul language is fine...even encouraged here. In fact, I think cussing is fucking wonderful.

Just remember...this is MY house, and I will not be insulted or maliciously messed with here.

Good-natured ribbing is cool, but if you and I don't have some kind of previous relationship, you had best mind your fucking manners or I will relegate you to the intardnets dustbin for being a cunt.

To know me is to love me.

Or something.

Maybe.
