Part 1-My 2008 Magnificent Colossal Indy 500 Photo Blog Thing: The Introduction

It is now May in Indy. That can only mean two things. Racing fast and shiny open wheeled vehicles at the world’s most bestest track, The Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and my vacation. One of these things is more important than the other, and I bet you are smart enough to figure out which one.

Lots of cool stuff has happened since the last time we gathered to discuss racin’. The coolest of those things is that Tony George and most of the big shots from Champ Car got together and decided that having two American open wheel racing series was silly.

I imagine it all went down a little something like this, except their hands were probably manicured and pretty and not all gnarly and dirty and gnawed on like my two sons' hands are in this image which I expertly created...

This is a good thing, I think, and it indicates to me that Mr. George took to heart the little chit-chat we had last year regarding this matter.

Yes. Reunification is groovy and fills me with feelings of love and brotherhood and makes liquid snot substances flow from a variety of my bodily orifices in an emotional display not seen heretofore.

In fact, now would probably be a good time for a musical interlude. Please click on the below YouTube thingy and sing along with me now. Here are some lyrics in case you are unfamiliar with the song.

I was a fool to ever leave your side
Me minus you is such a lonely ride
The breakup we had has made me
Lonesome and sad
I realize I love you
'Cause I want you bad, hey, hey

I spent the ev'ning with the radio
Regret the moment that I let you go
Our quarrel was such a way
Of learnin' so much
I know now that I love you
'Cause I need your touch, hey, hey

Chorus:
Reunited and it feels so good
Reunited 'cause we understood
There's one perfect fit
And, sugar, this one is it
We both are so excited
'Cause we're reunited, hey, hey

I sat here starin' at the same old wall
Came back to life
Just when I got your call
I wished I could climb
Right through the telephone line
And give you what you want
So you will still be mine, hey,
Hey

I can't go cheatin', honey, I can't play
I found it very hard to stay away
As we reminisce on precious moments like this
I'm glad we're back together
'Cause I missed your kiss,

Lover, lover, this is solid love
And you're exactly what I'm dreamin' of
All through the day
And all through the night
I'll give you all the love
I have with all my might, hey, hey

by Peaches and Herb

There. Now we all feel great, don’t we?

If you looked closely at the video, you saw that the featured performers darn near mounted each other with their public displays of affection. I have my doubts that a similar thing happened when the team principals from Champ Car and the Indy Car Series were talking about stuff, but who’s to say for sure?

Certainly not me.

Welcome to May! It will be fun and exciting!

Pretty much.

Feel free to comment away with your bad-ass selves.

Cursing and foul language is fine...even encouraged here. In fact, I think cussing is fucking wonderful.

Just remember...this is MY house, and I will not be insulted or maliciously messed with here.

Good-natured ribbing is cool, but if you and I don't have some kind of previous relationship, you had best mind your fucking manners or I will relegate you to the intardnets dustbin for being a cunt.

To know me is to love me.

Or something.

Maybe.
